Twelve Garden-Inspired Paintings for the Chocolate Church Art Gallery

Posted on August 10th, 2012 by maineislandtreasures

As I’ve noted in an earlier posting, tonight is the opening reception for the new group show at the Chocolate Church Art Gallery in Bath.  Working with the theme, “Maine Home – Inside and Outside,” I’ve painted four 12in x 12in sunflower varietes from my garden and my neighbor’s garden last summer, four 8in x 8in heirloom tomatoes from Whole Foods (because my 7 varieties of heirlooms are not yet ripe!), and four 5in x 5in stages of a peony blooming (Paeonia Tenuifolia) in my garden two months ago.  These oils on canvas are in the company of some wonderful art in the gallery, and I hope to see you there this evening!
